How do I identify fake selenium testers ?

First of all there are no fake selenium testers. There are beginner selenium testers and then there are experienced selenium testers. Being a beginner you don't work on real projects so they are unaware about the complex issues which an experienced person faced and therefore found a solution for this.
To know whether a person is experienced or not in selenium,I follow these steps in interviews.
  1. Carefully looking at the job description in his/her previous companies to know what was his/her background.(50% of the cases I found it from CV itself).
  2. Asking whether person has experience in writing/modification of frameworks based on selenium or not(an experienced person have this experience and beginner doesn't)-30% of the cases I found this from this question.
  3. Since using selenium requires two things-solid oops concepts and solid xpath knowledge therefore few basic questions on these helps me found out 10% of the cases where the person actually understand basics.
  4. Last 10% are the most difficult they are beginners but they really work hard by themselves and they know selenium classes, methods and oops concepts. I give them the intermediate level questions where I found the difficulty during working on framework creation and tests scripts writing myself. Also I ask questions about overriding the built in selenium interfaces methods and using customized classes. 7–8 % of the cases I found it from this question.
  5. Last 2–3 clears all these questions, they are very smart even though they haven't worked on real projects but tried their hands on public websites. I find them useful in 2–5 years of experience range but can't take them in 5+ role where you have to work as mentor as well.
Remember every experienced person was once a beginner so next time you ask this question please rephrase the word “fake”.

Best way to believe in yourself

Nida teach mathematics to a girl.
She is in Class X.
One fine day, she came to Nida's house with her father. Her father wanted to tutor her for mathematics. Her father was so disappointed with his daughter.
He said, “I have been good in mathematics since childhood, I don’t know how she is my daughter. It is difficult to teach this girl.”.
The girl hung her head in shame during the entire conversation.
Nida said okay and told her to join.
She started coming to the class. Nida started teaching her. While teaching her, Nida realized that the girl already knew a lot and it was not at all difficult to teach her.
But, Nida could see lack of confidence in her. She did not believe in herself. She always hesitated in answering even when she answered. She believed that her doubts and answers are senseless.  Nida could see that in her behaviour.
Nida realized that the girl has accepted and believed that she does not know mathematics at all.
Her father, her school, her teachers have made her believe that she is not at all good in mathematics and does not know shit about the subject.
She writes down the question and stares at it and says “ Ma’am ye nahi hoga merese.” (I won’t be able to solve this).
Nida always told her the same thing “Chinmayee tumhe aata hai already. Try karo bas. Have confidence in yourself (“You already know this, Chinmayee. Just try once. Have confidence in yourself”).
And most of the times, she answers right.
Nida's mother asked Nida “How is this girl in studies ?”
Nida said “I am getting paid just to make her believe in herself. Rest she knows.”.
Moral of the story : To believe in yourself, first stop believing what others believe about you. Otherwise, you will end up being what others believe about you.

Follow it Everyday

  • Accept yourself - you might have made mistake all your life and be nothing but a pitiful victim of fear. That's just life. You're not going anywhere until you accept yourself; both the good and the awful.
  • Groom yourself - dress nicely and take care of yourself.
  • POWER pose - learn to open up your body and fake the confidence. It won't change how you feel but it will make you look confident.
  • Meditate - it will make your mind clearer and make you see things in the proper perspective.
  • Read self improvement - I don't know what you've heard about self improvement but it's life changing. Do it daily.
  • Accept fear - stop fighting fear and seeing it as a curse. Fear is just our natural avoidance mechanism for the uncertain. It's a mind trick that looks real. And it's not going away. So do it a favor by accepting it.
  • Start small - I started socializing by saying nothing but going out to smile at people and make eye contact. Learn to start with really really small actions.
  • Exercise - exercise releases dopamine that makes one feel good and confident.
  • Surround yourself with confident people - one thing I've learned is that confidence is contagious and so is the lack of it. So keeps asking yourself “who are the most confident people around me”, once you find them, spend your time with them.
  • It makes our life simple

    1. Do not run behind girl/boy.
    2. Be Honest.
    3. Accept the change, it will open new opportunities
    4. Eat healthily.
    5. Do not be addicted to drugs, cigarettes, alcohol and other things that are the bad for your health.
    6. Do some kind of physical, mental and spiritual workout daily.
    7. Life is filled with ups and downs. The problem is that what most of us want is ups and ups.
    8. Always think about what you have now, do not think about what you do not have.
    9. Your destiny is in your next decision.
    10. DO your best in whatever you do: how you do the small thing determine how you do the BIG thing.
    11. What you want to be tomorrow you have to be today.
    12. Stay off from negative people, they have problem for every solution.
    13. Never expect anything from anyone.
    14. Work for yourself. Not to please or to get others.
    15. If you miss someone, talk to them.
    16. Busy is the excuse you give to things that are not important to you.
    17. Do what is right.
    18. Read a lot watch useful videos. To do that search on youtube “The Mastery Guide Youtube Channel ” or you can search “Improvement Source” here you will get many books review on animated format.

Some of the five core habits of mentally strong people

    1. They are resilient. Mentally strong people realize that a failure isn’t the end of the world, and they bounce back with grace and a good attitude intact.
    2. They have good coping mechanisms. Basically, this means they have healthy strategies for when they’re upset. If you’re worried about layoffs, do you turn to alcohol, snap at your spouse, let your worries fester until they’re blown out of proportion…or do you go for a run, write in a journal, or meditate?
    3. They don’t believe everything they think. Most of us are ruled by our thoughts. Mentally strong people know that sometimes our brains lie to us. Just because you think, “Jane’s prettier and smarter and friendlier than me and I’m going to die alone in a hole somewhere”….doesn’t mean you have to accept it as true.
    4. They’re supported by loving family and friends. Don’t underestimate the power of a support system. Family and friends are life’s greatest joy, so if you’re lucky enough to have them, take advantage. Lean on them.
    5. They get help when they need it. It may sound cliched, but honest-to-god I can’t think of anything braver than admitting you need help and seeking it out. Getting a professional’s help, even if you’re scared, is truly a hallmark of strength.
